Carnival of Healing #152
This Week's Edition of the Carnival
I customarily highlight three carnival attractions as an intro before sending you on your way to the host blog. But this week I'm in a pinch with limited Internet access. I'll have to catch up visiting the carnival attractions later. But, not to worry, you can go ahead without my lead >>> Visit the Carnival of Healing #152. And if you are so inclined, come back here and post a comment sharing your favorite carnival attraction picks.
What is the Carnival of Healing?
The Carnival of Healing is a weekly round-up of blogs across the Internet featuring information about healing, self empowerment, and spirituality.
Volunteer to Host the Carnival on Your Blog
Yes, hosting takes some effort sorting through the various submissions and posting the carnival, but all my hosts have told me that the benefits are worth it. Hosting the carnival brings traffic to your blog, you have the opportunity to meet new friends, and you'll learn a lot when reviewing all the submissions.
I am currently seeking carnival hosts for September 6, 20, and 27.
Volunteer to Host Now.
Note: Carnival of Healing Editions are always posted on Saturdays. I realize that weekends are busy for many people and that getting to a computer is not always easy on Saturday. If you don't want to miss a carnival you can subscribe to my Holistic Healing Weekly Newsletter that is delivered to your email box on Tuesday mornings. A link is always provided to the current carnival edition.
Looking Back: Last week the carnival was hosted by Janet Dagley Dagley at The Reiki Digest
Looking Forward: Next week the carnival will be hosted by Cari Campbell at Your Joyous Life.

Reiki Gets a Glimmer of Olympic Silver
New Zealand cyclist Hayden Roulston wins the silver medal for the Olympic men's 4000m individual pursuit. In a pre-win interview (video interview) he recognized Reiki as the reason he was able to recover from a serious heart condition in 2006. In response to the interviewer's question How did you fix something the medical fraternity said was life threatening? Roulston's response was:
Through Reiki actually. It's Japanese healing technique. It's a hands-on treatment which transfers energy from one person to another. There was once upon a time I use to focus on just the mental and the physical, now it's the emotional and the spiritual, four very different components that's going to win the gold medal. If I walk away with the gold medal knowing I performed to my utmost best I”ll be happy, but if I walk away with silver or bronze or fourth the better man won on the day...News Reports

Thanks to Janet Dagley Dagley at The Reiki Digest for blogging this bit of exciting news and bringing it to my attention.

Healing Sewing Poll
| I am loving all the comments to yesterday's blog post Healing and Mom's Button Jar. My heart is filled with warmth realizing that I'm not the only one who enjoys the healing aspect of hand sewing. In keeping with the theme of Sewing is Healing I have created this fun poll. Plus, you can click through to the various types of sewing to visit the About.com Guide sites that cover them. Enjoy! Connie G. Thomas, About Guide to Cross-stitch, says "A few minutes stitching takes all my worries away and makes me breathe easier. " Janet Wickell, About Guide to Quilting, says "When my daughter was young, I always had a basket in the car, packed with projects I could work on when I waited for her to get out of dance class, flute lessons and all of the other 'mom on hold' tasks. Now I don’t seem to make time for hand sewing, and it truly is one of the most relaxing things you can do." pin cushion image @ photos.com |
